Are you concerned that your skin is aging ahead of time? Do you think that it is sagging and wrinkling too early? Well, do not give up hope yet, because we are going to look at simple solutions to anti aging skin care.

It might be wise to first have a full medical check up before you take on a course of skin care. This is not an example of the modern lunacy of extreme caution, but it is a good idea to find out whether your premature skin aging condition is real or imagined.

If it is authentic, there may be a deep-seated root cause such as thyroid or liver issues. Evidently, if you have such an illness, there is not much you can do about your skin, until you sort the reason out first. Being the biggest organ of our body, the skin often reflects internal issues similar to an early warning system. If you have not had a full check up for a long time, it would be a good idea anyway.

Men?s and women?s skins are not the same in general. A dermatologist would often recommend a facial cream containing vitamin B5 and witch hazel for men with skin suffering from overexposure, while a woman undergoing the same problem would only need vitamin B5.

Petrolatum was, and often still is, a common ingredient of skin care creams, however, dermatologists now advise that it be avoided. Therefore, check the label of any skin cream that you are offered for the presence of petrolatum and shun it like the plague.

It is important to read the label of any skin care product before you purchase it, but there is little possibility of most people remembering the Latin or chemical names of those ingredients that should be avoided. There are thousands of chemicals that should be steered clear of, if you want to use untreated skin care products.

There is a good rule of thumb that can help you determine whether a skin care product is full of chemical compounds and that is: if you can not pronounce it easily, it is long and there are x?s, y?s and z?s in it, then it probably is a man-made chemical compound and you would be better off keeping away from it.

Remember that there are many straightforward skin care techniques, if you are just maintaining your skin. Wash often using a soap that is not too severe and that is not over-perfumed; but do not wash so often that your skin loses its natural oils and becomes dry. Apply moisturizer to your body once a day after a shower or bath and give the moisturizer time to soak in before you towel yourself dry.

If you go out in cruel weather like wind or cold, moisturize before you go out and cover as much of your skin as you can. Shower and moisturize when you get back. It is better to have a small tub of expensive but very good cream, in particular for your face, than a large container of something that is little better than mayonnaise.

Seagate GoFlex Thunderbolt Adapter

Apple and Intel's Thunderbolt interface finally has a drive you can afford. The Seagate GoFlex Thunderbolt Adapter ($99 list) is an add-on accessory for Seagate's successful GoFlex portable hard drive line. The Thunderbolt adapter lets you make the most of the speedy 10Gbps (theoretical) interface found on new iMacs, Macbooks, and Mac minis. Grab a high-capacity Seagate GoFlex drive and one of these sleds, and you'll have the fastest hard drive you can buy for under $1,000. Photo editors, large file copiers, video producers, and rabid Mac enthusiasts, rejoice!

Design and Features
The GoFlex Thunderbolt Adapter is essentially a black plastic sled that clips onto your Seagate Goflex portable drive. It will work equally well with the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Ultra-Portable ($99.99 list, 4.5 stars), Seagate GoFlex Ultra-Portable for Mac ($219.99 list, 3.5 stars), and Seagate GoFlex Pro, which we used to test the adapter. It will connect to the Seagate GoFlex Slim ($99.99 list, 4 stars), but since that drive is slimmer than the others, it will hang less securely in the sled. The other GoFlex drives fastened securely to the Thunderbolt adapter. Unlike the basic GoFlex USB and FireWire adapters, the Thunderbolt Adapter has its own little logic board in it, necessitating a full-length chassis (about five inches long) that's perforated for cooling. The sled adds about a centimeter to the drives' thickness. There is a single Thunderbolt port on the adapter, so you can't daisy chain the adapter to another drive: this has to be the last device on the chain. Another nit is that the Thunderbolt cable itself isn't included; you'll have to buy Apple's $49 Thunderbolt cable to use the adapter. Seagate says it's working with suppliers to source another Thunderbolt cable in the future. That said, the GoFlex Pro clipped to the drive securely; I wouldn't worry about leaving it clipped to the adapter while in my travel bag.

The adapter will work with the drive formatted to any format (FAT32, NTFS, HFS+), but for testing purposes we reformatted the drive from NTFS to HFS+, the native Mac file format. The Thunderbolt Adapter has two status lights on it, letting you know that the drive is successfully connected to the computer, as well as letting you know about drive activity. It's best to use a 7,200 rpm or faster drive with the adapter, since Thunderbolt is such a fast interface.

Performance
The Thunderbolt interface gives any drive added performance, but this is the first time we've looked at a relatively pedestrian drive, one that doesn't cost upwards of $1,000 (or more) like the Promise Pegasus R6 ($1,999 list, 3.5 stars) and the LaCie Little Big Disk Thunderbolt (240GB SSD) ($899.99 list, 4 stars). The GoFlex Pro with the Thunderbolt interface took a brisk 13 seconds to transfer our 1.2GB test folder, which smokes the USB 2.0 interface on the same MacBook Pro (43 seconds). For kicks, we hooked the GoFlex Pro up to our Windows 7 testbed via the drive's USB 3.0 port, and it was slower (17 sec). To put this into perspective, the LaCie drive took 11 seconds to transfer the same folder, using two internal hard drives to share the load over the Thunderbolt interface. Pure throughput was a little slower on the drive; it returned good numbers on the AJA System test (100MBps Read; 90MBps Write), though they were quite a bit slower than the LaCie (476MB/sec Read, 252MB/sec Write). To put that into perspective, the GoFlex Pro returned a third of the performance under USB 2.0 (37MBps Read, 30 MBps write). Essentially, you will notice a speed increase using the Thunderbolt adapter for normal operations, but if you're a video editor on an up-to-the-minute deadline, the more expensive drives will pay off.

If you're a new Mac user who wants to use that speedy port marked with a lightning bolt, then get a Seagate GoFlex drive with the Seagate GoFlex Thunderbolt adapter. It'll give you a speed boost far over the USB 2.0 and FireWire 800 you're used to. It's a lot cheaper than the LaCie and Promise drives that have the interface built in, though those drives have their place, (like for users who need to edit Peter Jackson's latest Middle Earth adventure in real time). For everyone else, be they photo professionals or the budding video auteur working on a student project or just hardcore Mac enthusiasts, a GoFlex drive with this adapter is more than enough to keep them happy. It's fast.

'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' Exclusive Clip Premieres

Vampires may come out after dark, but there weren't any bloodsuckers at the Brooklyn, New York, Target store Friday night — just roughly a hundred women (and a few guys) who wanted to meet one. The crowd was anxiously waiting to pick up the DVD of "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1," which was released at midnight.

But it wasn't just the thrill of re-watching Bella and Edward's honeymoon that had these NYC Twi-hards — some of whom had been in line since 8 p.m. — bubbling with the kind of excitement normally reserved for a newborn vamp chasing his first kill. At 11 p.m., as promised, exclusive footage from "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" was shown for the first time at 500 Target stores nationwide.

"Part 1" may have featured a wedding, but the fandom wars over who should have Bella's heart were still raging on as the countdown to new footage began, with passionate discussions about Team Edward and Team Jacob popping up throughout the crowd. Friends Patrice Waite, 21, and Cynthia Rodriguez, 22, may not be able to agree on matters of vampire vs. werewolves, but the duo, who lovingly refer to themselves as "Team Switzerland," can agree that they are psyched to see "Part 2," even as they reminisced over "Part 1" scenes such as the romantic wedding and the intense birth of Renesmee.

"In a perfect world," Waite said, "the scene [I want to see tonight] would be when they are at the cottage, and they go all out [having sex], breaking walls and stuff."

"I want to see more of Renesmee [in Part 2]" Lauren Perciballi, 25, said. "I'm anxious to see how that works out because it's a vampire/human, so she's growing at a rapid pace. I'm interested to see the special effects behind that."

The actual clip may have been sex-and-Renesmee-free, but the five-minute-long tease certainly worked to entice fans gearing up for the premiere of "Part 2" next November. Aside from some behind-the-scenes shots of Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner preparing for battle in the woods, the full, exclusive-to-Target scene is from early on in the movie, when Bella discovers a note in a book with instructions from Alice, explaining what to do to get new passports. The clip showcases a heart-to-heart between Edward and Bella and features a swoon-worthy kiss that made the audience scream. The best part? Judging from fan reaction, it was the first shot of vampire Bella, whose red eyes and special-effect-aided speed definitely enticed Twi-hards to be even more excited for the next chapter in the saga.

"[The clip] was good," Waite said. "Of course, it was just a little clip, making us want more. I wasn't expecting that, but it was pretty good. I loved seeing [vampire Bella] zoom across the room."

Rodriguez agreed. "I loved Bella's piercing red eyes. I thought they did a good job [with the vampire stuff]. I'm even more excited for 'Part 2' now."

Not everyone at the event was a vampire lover though. Special sneak peek or not, the fandom wars continue on. While Kimberlee Imperato was excited about the special footage and loved newly vamped Bella, her daughter, 14-year-old BaileeAnn Darbasie, wasn't impressed. "[My mom] dragged me here," she explained. "I'm a Harry Potter fan."

Occupy arrest reveals new tactic for Oakland police (Reuters)

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) ? Police in Oakland, California, have made their first arrest of an anti-Wall Street protester accused of defying one of about a dozen "stay-away" orders issued to protesters barred by a court from returning to the group's favorite gathering spot.

The arrest of Joseph Briones, taken into custody on Wednesday night after police saw him at Frank Ogawa Plaza, represents a new tactic by authorities against members of the Occupy Oakland movement who are charged with violent acts or vandalism, police said.

The public square next to City Hall was the site of an Occupy Oakland tent city last fall and remains a central gathering point for activists aligned with national protests against economic inequality and excesses of the U.S. financial system.

Briones was also wanted for violating terms of his probation, Oakland police Sergeant Chris Bolton said on Thursday. Information on his age or place of residence was not immediately available.

Briones was one of 12 demonstrators to be issued restraining orders in Alameda County Superior Court on February 2 barring them from returning to Frank Ogawa Park, following a January 28 demonstration in Oakland that was marked by vandalism, several injuries and hundreds of arrests.

Briones was arrested during that demonstration on charges of felony battery of a police officer and refusing to leave the scene of a riot, a misdemeanor, Bolton said.

Since then, at least one other demonstrator was issued a stay-away order, "and that number is likely to rise," Bolton said.

"The intent was to obtain stay away orders for individuals likely to return and create further problems," Bolton said. "I don't know where we developed the idea. But the strategy itself is proving effective."

He said recent marches during the past two weeks had been mostly peaceful.

Prosecutors typically seek stay-away orders from criminal court judges after allegations of domestic violence or to quell gang activity. Bolton said he was unaware if any other police agencies were employing similar tactics against demonstrators considered likely to re-offend.
